One year with pandemic – Financial impacts on Nordic households
Effects of pandemic varies in between Nordic countries. According to this survey, negative financial impacts can be seen in Finland and Norway, whereas financial safety has remained in Denmark and Sweden.
Pandemic has had a significant impact on how we consume. In Sweden and Denmark, the increase in online shopping was as high as 50 percent. Even though online shopping increased, many households reduced their overall consumption and postponed major purchases.
Outlook for future
Pandemic has affected financially vulnerable households the hardest. In Sweden and Finland, 4 out of 10 households with a vulnerable financial situation have a negative outlook regarding their future finances.

Karin Nelsson has extensive experience from leading positions at several research companies. She is an accomplished speaker and specialized in opinion polls, societal analysis, and consumer behavior.
Tove Gerdin is Communications Manager at Lowell Sweden. She is project manager of the Payment Indicator survey, and has been working closely with Demoskop since 2017.
Fredrik is Nordic Communications Director with a deep knowledge of economics and consumer behavior. He will be facilitating the webinar.

Webinar will deepen your understanding of how Covid-19 has affected to Nordic households' financial situation and how individual consumers have experienced the year with pandemic. Webinar is based on Lowell Payment Indicator survey that was conducted in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark in February 2021. More than 1,500 residents of each country aged 18 and over responded to the survey in an online panel in each country. The survey was conducted by the research company Demoskop.
